Discovering the Passion Behind Arizona's Growing Car Community
One of the best parts of attending local events is meeting the people who make our communities unique. During the recent Asian Festival in Arizona, I had the opportunity to connect with members of AZ Full Throttle and Team Lumpia for a fun and insightful conversation about cars, friendship, culture, and community.
While their vehicles may be what initially catches people's attention, it's the relationships, shared experiences, and support for one another that truly define this group.
Who Are AZ Full Throttle and Team Lumpia?
AZ Full Throttle and Team Lumpia are made up of a diverse group of young people brought together by a shared passion for cars, motorcycles, road trips, and community involvement.
What started as friends enjoying automotive culture has grown into a supportive network where members encourage one another, attend local events, participate in car shows, and create lasting friendships.
And yes, as the name suggests, there's usually some delicious lumpia involved too.
More Than Just Cars
Many people see a car club and assume it's only about modified vehicles, engines, and car shows. After speaking with members of AZ Full Throttle and Team Lumpia, it quickly became clear that their organization is about much more.
Their community provides:
- Friendship and support
- Opportunities to meet new people
- Group rides and mountain drives
- Participation in local events
- Cultural connection through shared experiences
- Positive representation within Arizona's automotive community
The group's passion for cars serves as a foundation, but the friendships they build are what keep members involved.
Representing Culture Through Community
One of the things that stood out during our conversation was how proud the members are of their cultural roots and how they use community events like the Asian Festival to connect with others.
Events such as the Arizona Asian Festival create opportunities for people from different backgrounds to celebrate traditions, food, music, and community while learning from one another.
Groups like Team Lumpia help showcase the diversity that makes Arizona such a vibrant place to live.
Whether it's sharing food, stories, or automotive passions, these experiences help strengthen connections throughout the community.
The Energy of the Asian Festival
The Asian Festival provided the perfect backdrop for our interview.
Visitors enjoyed cultural performances, local vendors, food, community organizations, and opportunities to connect with people from many different backgrounds.
For AZ Full Throttle and Team Lumpia, the event was another opportunity to showcase their vehicles, meet new friends, and represent their community in a positive way.
The energy, enthusiasm, and welcoming atmosphere reflected exactly what community events should be about—bringing people together.
Why Community Matters
One of the reasons I enjoy creating Local Spotlight interviews is because they allow us to highlight the people, organizations, and groups that contribute to the fabric of our Arizona communities.
Whether it's a small business owner, local nonprofit, community leader, athlete, or car club, every story helps us better understand the people who make Arizona special.
AZ Full Throttle and Team Lumpia demonstrate how shared interests can create meaningful connections and lasting friendships.
Their story is a reminder that communities are built through relationships, support, and a willingness to bring people together.
